Cornwall Open School Orchestras

The Cornwall Music Education Hub is very proud to be working with Open Up Music and partners Cymaz Music and the Cornwall Music Service Trust to offer fully accessible creative ensembles in two of our settings: Pencalenick School and the Ark at Richard Lander School.  We are now in the second year of working with these students who have already had the opportunity to perform at the Hall for Cornwall.

In order to enable more young people with Special Educational Needs to access ensemble music making, we are now working with three more settings (Brannel ARB, Penryn College ARB and Curnow School).

Music Lead Role for Open School Orchestra

The Cornwall Music Education Hub is looking for individuals to take on the role of the Music Lead to work with Open School Orchestras in the following settings:

Richard Lander School ARB – 30 hours per academic year

Pencalenick School – 30 hours per academic year

Penryn College – 30 hours per academic year

Brannel – 30 hours per academic year

Curnow School -  60 hours per academic year

Time for training to be paid separately. 

Individuals who undertake this role must have extensive experience of working in special schools and using specialist accessible music technology such as Clarion.

Expressions of interest in delivering this work must be received in writing by Monday 22nd July.
