Live at the Exchange

Miloš Milivojević, accordion & Will Sleath, flute

Friday 28th April,

The Exchange, Princes St Penzance

Miloš and Will present a varied programme comprising two new compositions, sonatas of the Baroque and traditional repertoire from the Balkans. Miloš will be playing his new custom-built Pigini accordion for the first time in Cornwall, and Will is using the entire gamut of flutes: bass, alto, concert and piccolo. They are premiering two major commissions funded with the financial support of Britten-Pears Foundation: Carved Forms by Philip Grange, Professor of Composition at Manchester University, inspired by the sculptures of Barbara Hepworth, and Scending by Christopher Best, Senior Lecturer in Composition at Falmouth University, dedicated to the memory of his late colleague Bob Gilmore.

The programme also features works of the Baroque – two sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti adapted for accordion solo and a duo sonata by the English composer William Babell – as well as traditional music of the Balkans.

Do come and enjoy this diverse range of music in the relaxed atmosphere of The Exchange in Penzance, and take in the current exhibition at the same time.
