We are delighted to announce that nominations for the 2018-2019 National Orchestra for All are now open!

We have 100 places available to returning and new members and would be delighted to receive a nomination from you.

What is NOFA?

NOFA is a unique, mixed ability orchestra made up of 100 musicians aged 11-18 from across all four countries of the UK. NOFA is the only non-auditioned, free to participate, nationally run youth orchestra in the world. The NOFA season begins each July, lasts for nine months and is made up of three residential courses across the year. The 2018-2019 season, which we’re calling Wordplay, will see the young musicians explore the relationship between music and language through a series of new commissions, arrangements created especially for NOFA and creative composition workshops leading to a brand new youth-created piece.

To find out more about what membership in this year's season involves, visit our website.

How do I put a young musician forward?

You are able to nominate up to five young musicians but please be aware, a nomination does not necessarily mean a place will be granted.

Returning members who have demonstrated their commitment to the orchestra previously will be given priority.

The guidance document here outlines everything you need to know about nominating, and once you're ready to go, the link to the nomination form is here.

Any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with NOFA Programme Manager Sophie George:

The deadline for nominations is midnight on Friday 2nd March
