Interested young singers are welcome to attend any of our full rehearsals for either Cornwall Boys Choir or Cornwall Girls Choir. Come along, listen or even take part and see what it is like before joining! Contact Angela Renshaw on 07980 567386 or to E-mail: [email protected]
Entrance to the Girls’ Choir and the Boys Choir is by audition only so, if you would like to join either of these choirs please read the information provided here, view the Audition pieces and then get in touch.

What will you be asked to perform at an audition?
- We would like you to choose and then prepare one of the set pieces from the Set Pieces list on the CMEH website cornwallmusiceducationhub.org
Please download your own copy and learn the piece well so that you can perform it from memory on the day.
- Please select another short piece to sing of your own choice. This should also be sung without music, entirely from memory. This could be another Folk Song, or hymn or even something you really enjoy singing at school or in a singing lesson if you have them.
If the song has a piano accompaniment please bring that along with you on the day as well.
- Finally we will give you a few simple Aural Tests:
- repeating a rhythm that is clapped first for you to copy
- repeating a melodic phrase that is sung first for you to copy*
- pitching any note in C Major Scale, first note ‘C’ will be given.

The next round of auditions will take place on Saturday 17th January 2015 from 10.00am onwards at Truro School Prep, Highertown, Truro, TR1 3QN
