Dvořák - Serenade for Strings
Warlock - Capriol Suite (with Cornish student string players)
Otto Ketting - Souvenir de Printemps
Brahms - String Quintet in G, op.111,arr. for strings
Conductor - Frank Zielhorst
Masterworks by Dvořák and Brahms frame this programme conducted by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s Young Conductor in Association, Frank Zielhorst. He also includes a work by his Dutch compatriot, Otto Ketting, which evokes the composer’s musical memories of his youth, and follows in the German tradition of writing for strings exemplified by Brahms and Dvořák. The programme is completed by Warlock’s Capriol Suite in which the BSO musicians are joined by Cornish student string players.
