The Chris Treglown Foundation Fund Award 2014

This is a fund which was set up in 2012 by the parents of a young talented 23 yr old singer called Chris Treglown who tragically died in an accident.

The Fund has been extremely well supported and so far has set out to achieve what what was intended. The aim is to give young singers an opportunity to develop their musical skills, capacities and capabilities through the donation of funds to assist them in the pursuit of musical education, participation and other musical activities related to singing.

Each year a substantial monetary amount will be made available and this amount will be divided between Cornish applicants and applicants from MJUK ( a company in Gloucestershire where Chris was performing and having vocal coaching).

The funds will be available for categories such as

  • costs towards singing lessons
  • purchase of musical compositions & related books
  • attendance and/ or travel costs to attend auditions, workshops or master classes
  • costs towards college fees

Details about the Fund and the criteria and procedure for applying can be found on the website www.christreglown.co.uk

So far the Fund has assisted three young people with financial help towards their career path in the musical world and this year the Trustees of the Fund are looking for two more worthy recipients aged between 16-24 yrs to receive the award. An award which is in memory of a young man who never had the chance to pursue his dream but will help others in whatever way it can.

The closing date for applications is the end of May 2014.
