The CMEH Vocal Strategy
The Cornwall Music Education Hub is committed to supporting high quality vocal activity. In order to realise this vision, the CMEH is working with a range of partners to deliver:
- a network of choirs across the county to provide a vocal progression framework
- school cluster vocal projects
- large scale events to celebrate singing
- performance opportunities at Hub showcases
- training for vocal leaders (school and community), delivered by nationally recognised vocal experts
- masterclasses for young people on singing and song writing

Masterclasses
FREE - 19th September 2015 - Come and Sing with Esther Jones
Join NYCGB Deputy Musical Director Esther Jones for a vocal workshop, experience what it’s like to sing with NYCGB and perform an exciting repertoire. This workshop will also help to demystify the choir audition process.
Venue: Truro School, Truro, TR1 1TH
Workshop Times: 10am -1pm (for Years 5 - 8) and 2pm - 5pm (for Years 9 -11)
FREE - 16th/17th October - 16+ Vocal Composition and Performance Workshop
This is an opportunity for you to develop your own work on vocal compositions for BTEC, GCSE or A level or for personal vocal development, receive feedback and advice from composer Ben Parry and also hear your work performed by some of the country’s finest young singers.
Funded by Cornwall Music Education Hub, the weekend is free and will be led by Ben Parry, composer and director of NYCGB and Greg Hallam director of NYCGB boys choir. The Fellowship Octet will be present during the weekend to perform a selection of the compositions.
