Empowering choral leaders
Learn about what’s going on inside the singing voice and singers’ brains, and how it can empower you as a choral leader, as Stuart Barr makes a return visit to expand on last year’s session. Starting with an easy-to-understand technical guide as to how the voice works, you’ll also discover how children’s voices change when growing up, and how you can use this knowledge. Other subjects covered include Idiomatic Voice Technique (how to get singers to change their sound to fit the music); and Can one teach the “X-Factor”?: an exploration of to what extent it’s possible to teach the elements that appeal to audiences that lie outside conventional pedagogy.
