Kernow West Folk Group is an exciting new youth ensemble based in the Camborne / Redruth area with rehearsals taking place at Cornwall College (opposite Heartlands). We play folk music from Cornwall, Ireland, Scotland and further afield.
The group is open to players of any folk instrument (fiddles, violins, mandolins, flutes, whistles, guitars, bass guitars, drums etc) and will play traditional and contemporary arrangements with an emphasis on having good fun while doing so.
Kernow West Folk Group is aimed at young musicians aged 8-18 with some existing experience, the aim to push more advanced players technique while nurturing less experienced players and inspire them to continue their musical career.
