Celebrating music in Cornwall

Location: St Austell
Date: 6/3/2016 10:30:00 AM - 6/3/2016 5:00:00 PM

BBC Music Day is coming to Cornwall on Friday 3rd June 2016!

After a first outing in 2015, BBC Music Day returns on Friday 3 June 2016 and they are looking for groups to be involved! Last year, the very first BBC Music Day featured over 20 live music events, including a 73-mile musical relay from dawn to dusk along Hadrian’s Wall, a special educational needs and disability youth concert with The British Paraorchestra in Bristol, and a record-breaking musical event in Cardiff, reaching an audience of over 15 million on TV, Radio and online. The event is returning on Friday 3rd June 2016 with the theme of 'learning to play an instrument', from the most simple to the more complex!

The Cornwall Music Education Hub is partnering with BBC Music to hold a day of music activities in St. Austell, this will include pop up performances, drop in music taster workshops and a parade through St Austell town centre. We are also looking for singers/choirs to be part of a massed sing!

In addition, the BBC Concert Orchestra will be holding a special concert at the Hall for Cornwall and will be joined by the Cornwall Family Orchestra and Chorus.
