Cymaz Music is opening the doors to new members of the Youth Ensemble ProjectThe Youth Ensemble Project is a creative ensemble based in Cornwall, run by professional musicians and supported by the Cornwall Music Education Hub. There is always a Youth Worker present at sessions. We aim to help young musicians, including those with little or no composition experience, to compose or re-arrange music as a group and then publicly perform. We also signpost musicians to opportunities, give industry advice and guidance and bring in other professional musicians along the way.We will be holding a Try Out day on Saturday 5th November at The House in St AustellWe are introducing a Junior YEP! for musicians aged 10 - 14. We will be continuing the Senior YEP! for musicians aged 15-21If you have attended YEP! before, you still need to attend the Try Out Day to join the YEP! Sax is our Business in Concert

The Cornwall Music Education Hub's saxophone ensemble, Sax is our Business, will be performing as part of the Jazz on the Lawn concert at Duloe School on 30th September.

ACADEMY OF MUSIC AND THEATRE ARTS - FALMOUTH-YAMAHA JAZZ SUMMER SCHOOL
15th - 20th August 2016
First-class tutors, amazing state-of-the-art facilities, and a beautiful Cornish setting: Falmouth University and Yamaha come together to host one of the most exciting jazz summer schools in the UK.
Running over six days in August and led by a team of top UK jazz players and educators, theFalmouth-Yamaha Jazz Summer School 2016 supports jazz players from a wide range of backgrounds and experience seeking to further their skills, understanding, and appreciation of jazz. Working in a concentrated yet relaxed and friendly atmosphere, the combination of the course, tutors and facilities make for a highly stimulating and creative learning environment.
Sessions on a range of key topics run throughout the six days, culminating in a final night concert which is open to an audience of family, friends and invited local jazz fans. Also during the week is a master-class and concert by a visiting Yamaha jazz artist. This year we are very happy to welcome the visit of the exceptional drummer, composer, arranger and producer Troy Miller.

The Truro Junior Strings Orchestra will be performing alongside the Cornwall Symphony Chorus at the 25th Anniversary Gala Concert for Children's Hospice South West.

Music for Youth National Festival
The Cornwall Youth Orchestra will be performing alongside the Ten Pieces choir at the Birmingham Symphony Hall as part of Music for Youth's national festival. The combined orchestra and choir will be made up of 150 young people aged 8 to 18 and will perform a selection of pieces from Bizet's Carmen. They will be conducted by the CYO's principal conductor, 16 year old Angus Webster.

Sax is our Business end of year concert
The Cornwall Music Education Hub's Saxophone Ensemble, Sax is our Business, will be performing a concert to mark the end of the academic year and bid farewell to the players who will be moving on.

Hubbub 2016!
The Cornwall Music Education Hub will be returning to Heartlands for its annual music festival for schools and families, this time for 3 days!
The theme for this year's festival is 'World Music', with a mixture of performances and workshops, all free!
